UNDER SENATORS’ OVERSIGHT
On December 27 and 29, 2025, the laboratories and production facilities of JSC “Research and Production Center ‘Phytochemistry’” were visited by Senators of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan S. M. Yershov and S. B. Uteshov.

During the meeting with the Senators of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, a number of pressing issues related to the development of the domestic pharmaceutical industry were discussed, including:
- the adoption of systemic measures to create favorable conditions for attracting foreign investment into the sector;
- digital labeling and barcoding of medicinal products, especially imported medicines supplied to the Republic in large volumes;
- the issue of financing preclinical and clinical studies of original medicinal products;
- the current state of registration of active pharmaceutical substances and finished dosage forms of original domestic phytopharmaceuticals, in comparison with the registration procedures for generic medicines по аналогии с регистрацией дженериковых препаратов;
- the allocation of funding for scientific research across the Republic, taking into account the development of regional science;
- the training of highly qualified specialists for domestic science and business. A rational and effective approach to addressing the latter issue is the training of PhD doctors at universities, with PhD dissertation defenses to be conducted at research centers and institutes, where dissertation councils should be established.

In addition, it is necessary to introduce mandatory placement of university graduates who studied under state-funded grants at domestic enterprises, with compulsory employment for a period of 3–5 years.
All the issues discussed were taken under the Senators’ oversight in order to facilitate their resolution through the relevant профильные ministries.
